Episode 274 LIVE: John Titor and Other Supposed Time Travelers

Time travel has long been a staple of the science fiction genre, and there are some who believe that we may one day be able to achieve it in reality. But what about people who claim to have already traveled through time? On tonight’s epochal episode, Tom and Jenny have a freewheeling and freedrinking discussion about a handful of such individuals, including the famous “John Titor,” who asserted that he had traveled back from 2036 to obtain an IBM 5100 computer from 1975. We’ll also look into the viral “time traveling hipster” photo, as well as a few other ostensible chrononauts like “Rudolph Fentz” and the guy who supposedly used time travel to make a killing on the stock market in 2003. Settle into the spacetime continuum for a temporally challenging episode 274.

Episode 273 LIVE: Spooky Scotland! The Big Grey Man, Overtoun Bridge, and the Edinburgh Vaults

Scotland is a magical place, full of eerie mists, forbidding castles, Bravehearts, bagpipes, and haggis. There are also lots and lots of ghosts and other paranormal shenanigans, and on tonight’s episode, Tom and Jenny will be discussing just three of the most fascinating. First, we’ll discuss the Big Grey Man, also known as Am Fear Liath Mòr, a massive apelike creature that supposedly stalks the second highest peak in the British Isles, Ben Macdui. Then we’ll talk about the sad and eerie legend of Overtoun Bridge, over which reportedly hundreds of dogs have mysteriously jumped to their deaths. Then we’ll go down into the Edinburgh Vaults, digging through their interesting history as well as the ghosts said to be resident therein. Go Gaelic with Tom and Jenny on a spooky Scottish episode 273.

Episode 271 LIVE: Doppelgängers (aka Twin Strangers)

No, you aren’t seeing double, it’s just Tom and Jenny talking about some more weird shit. The German term doppelgänger, meaning literally “double walker,” is a strange phenomenon whereby a person sees a living double of themselves, an occurrence that throughout history has largely been seen as an omen of death. Poe’s short story “William Wilson” may be the best known fictional account of the mysterious “twin stranger,” and literature is full of other examples, but many well-known historical figures, including Abraham Lincoln, Catherine the Great, and Percy Shelley, also claimed to see eerie doubles of themselves which seemed to foretell ill fortune. There was also the bizarre case of Emilie Sagée, a French schoolteacher whose students repeatedly saw a double of the woman mirroring her movements, though Emilie herself supposedly never saw it. Get ready to double your pleasure and double your unease on a twice as terrifying episode 271.

Episode 267 LIVE: Reincarnation, Moving Adventures, Birthdays, and More!

Is time an endless cycle rather than an endless line? Have we, in fact, seen all this sh*t before? Tom and Jenny explore those questions and more on tonight’s mystical episode, on which we discuss the ins and outs of reincarnation, as well as some supposed cases of people who seem to have lived past lives. Let’s get all our good karma working on a deja-vu-infused episode 267.

Episode 261 LIVE: Sasquatch!

According to popular lore, a species of huge, hairy ape-men populate the wilds of the Pacific Northwest and western Canada. Known as Sasquatch or Bigfoot, this mysterious cryptid supposedly has roots going all the way back to the Native American tribes of the ancient Americas, and also has counterparts all around the world, such as the Skunk Ape, the Yeti, and the Yowie. Is there really an unidentified species of hominid that’s roaming the earth, yet to be discovered by science? Is its existence being covered up by some shadowy government organization? Are Sasquatches, in fact, somehow tied in with extraterrestrials or extradimensional beings of some kind? Put on your best Squatchin’ duds and hash out the Bigfoot legend with Tom and Jenny on a wild and woolly episode 261.

Episode 233 LIVE: The World of Carl Jung

On this esoteric and analytical installment, Tom and Jenny discuss one of the most influential figures in the field of psychology, and also a man with tremendous staying power in the realms of art and mysticism: Carl Jung. Born in Switzerland in the late 19th century, Jung took Freud’s developing ideas of psychoanalysis and went in his own direction with them, eventually coming up with theories still in common parlance today, such as the fundamental personality types of introverts and extroverts, the word association test, the identification of archetypes, the interpretation of dreams as a method toward self-actualization, and the intriguing concept of the collective unconscious. A highly intelligent but complicated figure, Jung’s influence is still being felt, though his ideas have been somewhat diminished in scientific circles. Lie back on the couch and tell us about your mother; it’s all about the analysis on a live episode 233.

Episode 221 LIVE: Ghosts of the Queen Mary

On this ooky spooky installment, Tom and Jenny (after about an hour of babbling about nonsense, haha) discuss one of the most famous haunted sites in the world, the former ship and current hotel known as the Queen Mary. From her early days in the 1930s as a swanky luxury liner, through the dark days of World War II, to her present situation as an attraction and paranormal hotspot permanently docked off Long Beach, California, the ship known as the Grey Ghost and the Stateliest Ship Afloat is believed to be home to between 150 and 600 ghostly inhabitants and is a popular ghost hunting destination. Pour yourself some spirits (ha!), cuddle close, and get ready for a creepily nautical nightmare on episode 221.

Episode One Hundred Forty Eight: The Possession of Julia and the Michael Taylor Exorcist Murder

On today’s possessive installment, we’re discussing two cases of purported demon infestation, one of which resulted in a gruesome murder. First, we’ll be talking about the case of “Julia,” who approached the Catholic church in 2008 claiming to be possessed and who came to the attention of a Yale-and-Harvard-educated psychiatrist who suspected her possession was legit. Then we’ll tell the horrifying tale of Michael Taylor, a mild-mannered fella in a small English town who was seemingly taken over by demons after joining a weird religious sect and subsequently went on to kill his wife (and dog) in pretty much the worst way imaginable. Fill the tub with holy water and give Father Merrin a ring, it’s about to get demonic up on episode 148.

Episode One Hundred Forty Two: Ted Serios and Psychic Photography

On this photogenic installment, Tom and Jenny are discussing the case of Ted Serios, a paranormal celebrity in the 1960s who would get ragingly drunk and then claim to be able to project his thoughts onto Polaroid pictures in what nowadays is called thoughtography. Was this dude really snapping photos of his subconscious, or was it all just a simple trick? And where did this whole idea of photographing thoughts come from, anyway? Down a bottle of cheap scotch and say cheese, folks, it’s about to get paranormal up in here on episode 142.

Episode One Hundred Thirty Nine: The Black Hope Curse

Hey, y’know in the movie Poltergeist, when all the trouble started because someone “only moved the headstones?” Well, who knew that it was based on a real event? We didn’t, until now. In the early 1980s, a couple bought a house in a suburb of Houston, Texas and started digging a pool in their backyard when what should they come across but a couple of bodies in pine boxes. Turns out that the entire neighborhood was built slap bang on top of a forgotten cemetery, and according to several residents of the street, the dead people were NOT happy about their former resting place being disturbed, because a shitload of paranormal activity allegedly ensued. Tune in to this fun, spooky exploration of the so-called Black Hope Horror and the bizarre phenomenon of abandoned cemeteries turning up in the darnedest places.

Episode One Hundred Twenty Five: Skinwalker Ranch

Back on the paranormal tip this week, Tom and Jenny are tackling one of the most talked-about and reportedly active locations for UFO and paranormal sightings in the United States: the 480-acre area of northeastern Utah known as the Skinwalker Ranch. The Ute Native American tribe allegedly has tales of skinwalkers in the region going back centuries, but beginning in the 1950s, the Skinwalker Ranch has also been the site of numerous reported sightings of everything from UFOs, to ghosts and poltergeist activity, to cattle mutilations, to portals to other dimensions, to cryptids of various types, including a gigantic wolf that is supposedly impervious to bullets. Travel down the vortex of interplanetary weirdness as we examine the Skinwalker Ranch on episode 125.

Episode One Hundred Twenty Three: Christmas Special! The Warminster Thing and the Rendlesham Forest Incident

Happiest of happy holidays to all of our listeners out there! On this fun, festive Christmas special, Tom and Jenny will be discussing two fascinating British UFO cases that also happened to take place right around Christmastime: the decades-long series of UFO sightings and other strange auditory phenomena collectively known as The Warminster Thing, the main bulk of which began on Christmas Day of 1964; and the infamous Rendlesham Forest Incident, which occurred on December 26th & 28th of 1980 and has gone on to become one of the best known alleged UFO sightings in the world. So pop on your Santa hat and ugly Christmas sweater, pour yourself an eggnog, bust out the Christmas cookies and candy canes, and spend an interstellar Christmas with Tom and Jenny on episode 123.

Episode One Hundred Twenty One: A Haunting Recap – The Demon Murder Case

It’s paranormal time again on this spooky installment of 13 O’Clock, and we’re finally going back to one of our popular discussions of an episode of A Haunting! This time, we’ll be talking about the season 2 episode entitled “Where Demons Dwell,” which details a possible haunting or demon possession in 1980 Connecticut. The case is also infamous in that it later led to the murder trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson, who tried to claim demon possession as his defense. We discussed the case briefly on our show about the Warrens, but we thought we’d revisit the topic and give it a bit more depth, including a chat about the 1983 TV movie based on the case (starring a young Kevin Bacon). So ready your rosaries and holy water as we go a-haunting on episode 121.

Episode Ninety-Four: A Haunting Review – House of the Dead

It’s paranormal time again, and we’re returning to that wonderful wellspring of supernatural hijinks known as A Haunting. This time, we’re discussing the case of Billy Bean, whose story was told on episode 5 of season 2, titled “House of the Dead.” Billy moved into a house in Glen Burnie, Maryland with his family in 1970 when he was just seven years old, and before too long, some apparently nefarious force began targeting the Beans, causing violent poltergeist activity and the drastic personality change of Billy’s father. Join us as we run down the episode and the case, and also listen with amusement to our news story, in which we lament the darkly hilarious fate of a 2,000-year-old, extremely unlucky Pompeii resident. Poltergeists and demons and ghosts, oh my! It’s a high-spirited episode 94.

Episode Eighty-Seven: Borley Rectory (Plus Keith Linder Haunting)

On today’s spooky and tangent-filled installment of 13 O’Clock, we’re tackling one of the most famous haunted houses in the world, Borley Rectory. Built in 1862 and investigated by famed paranormal investigator Harry Price, the Victorian-style mansion was allegedly the site of all sorts of supernatural shenanigans, including the apparition of a ghostly nun, a phantom carriage with two headless drivers, numerous reports of footsteps and screams, and bizarre writing that supposedly appeared on the walls asking for help. All this, plus a brief rundown of the Keith Linder Demons in Seattle case, which is in the news again since a new book just came out about it (even though I already wrote one about it back in 2016, called House of Fire and Whispers). Put your haunting hats on and settle by the fire for a spirited discussion on episode 87.

NOTE: If you just want to hear about Borley Rectory, skip ahead to about 26 minutes in; we kinda went off on a bunch of digressions, haha.

Episode Eighty-Four: The Haunting of Bobby Mackey’s

On this ghostly episode of 13 O’Clock, we’re going back to our recaps of “A Haunting” episodes, and this one is about one of the most famous haunted locations in the United States. Bobby Mackey’s Music World has been a popular Kentucky honky tonk since the late 1970s, but it’s evidently been haunted for as long as anyone can remember. Its alleged former use as a slaughterhouse and a speakeasy, as well as being the site of alleged suicides and at least one gruesome murder, has practically ensured that paranormal activity has often been reported and several ghost hunting teams have conducted investigations of the place. So slap on your ten-gallon hat and climb onto the mechanical bull as we run down the tale of the infamously spirit-infested country and western bar on episode 84.

Episode Seventy-Nine: The Winchester Mystery House, Plus American Horror Story House

On this episode of 13 O’Clock, we’re talking about what is probably one of the weirdest and ostensibly most haunted houses in the United States, if not the world: the infamous Winchester Mystery House. This sprawling, mazelike, 24,000-square-foot mansion was built by the widowed Sarah Winchester and contains many fascinatingly bizarre architectural oddities, including doors and staircases leading nowhere, skylights in the floor, and balconies that face indoors. Did Sarah really build this strange house in order to appease restless spirits? Or was she just an eccentric who liked experimenting with different architectural styles? Tom and Jenny discuss the gorgeous and allegedly haunted house, along with a news story about another possibly haunted house that was also, incidentally, featured on the first season of American Horror Story. Relax in your seance room and channel our voices as we bring you a ghostly episode 79.

Episode Seventy-Six: A Haunting at Allen House, Plus Kent Ghost Monk

Hooray, Tom is finally back! And to celebrate, we’re doing another one of our fun discussions of an episode of A Haunting…this one concerns the season 5 episode titled “The Haunting of the Allen House,” which is a reenactment of the paranormal shenanigans happening to the Spencer family after they purchase the infamously haunted house in Arkansas and subsequently discover a secret about a woman who committed suicide there back in the 1940s. Apparitions and doomed love affairs of the past abound! We’ll also be discussing a recent news story about a man who allegedly photographed a ghost at an English castle, so get your haunt on and tune in for episode 76.

Episode Sixty-Seven: The Sallie House Haunting

On this ghostly episode, we’re returning to our study of paranormal cases featured on the program A Haunting. This time we examine the infamous Sallie House in Atchison, Kansas, specifically the two-year residence of the Pickman family, who allegedly experienced objects moving around and catching fire, the sighting of apparitions, physical attacks, and strange personality changes. The haunting at the Sallie House has been attributed to the ghost of a seven-year-old girl and perhaps that of her angry mother, but accounts differ, and Tom and Jenny discuss the case and the way it was portrayed on A Haunting, trying to get to the bottom of the mystery. Put all your teddy bears in a circle and commune with the spirit of episode 67.

Episode Fifty-Nine: A Haunting in Georgia – Wyrick House and Mr. Gordy

It’s been a while since we’ve done one of our reviews of A Haunting episodes, so we decided to go back to the beginning and delve into the case behind one of the pilot episodes, “A Haunting in Georgia” (which was also the basis for the horror movie A Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia). The Wyrick family begin to experience paranormal activity in their new home in Ellerslie, Georgia, mostly centering around their daughter Heidi seeing a friendly old man in the backyard who she called Mr. Gordy, as well as another man with blood on his shirt that she called Con. Later on, things got a bit more sinister with the arrival of a creepy hooded figure who seemed to wish the family harm. On this episode, Tom and Jenny talk about the episode of A Haunting as well as the witness accounts of the real case, and how it was (poorly) adapted to the big screen. Start your October off right with the ghostly, haunted 59th installment of 13 O’Clock.

Also, if you have a TRUE creepy story that happened to you or someone you know (it doesn’t have to be paranormal, just scary), please email it to me at gravecake@gmail.com and we might feature it on our special Halloween episode!

Episode Fifty-Seven: Spontaneous Human Combustion

So you’re sitting in your comfy chair, relaxing with a cocktail and the newest edition of Smoking Hot MILFs, when suddenly…BLAMMO! You’re consumed by flames that seem to have emitted from inside your body, and all that will be left of you is a pile of ashes and two weirdly intact feet, perhaps still wearing your favorite pair of bunny slippers. On episode 57, Tom and Jenny are talking about spontaneous human combustion…is there really some mysterious force that can ignite a person from within? Or is there always a rational explanation, like smoking in bed or falling asleep too close to your fireplace? Hose yourself down with the nearest fire extinguisher in preparation for this incendiary installment of 13 O’Clock.

Episode Fifty-Two: EVPs and Spirit Communication

Have you ever been making a recording in a creepy old house (like you do) and gotten a lot more than you bargained for, such as, say, disembodied voices turning up on your audio devices? Welcome to the eerie and controversial world of electronic voice phenomena (EVP), which has now become an integral part of any paranormal investigation. The internet is awash in spooky recordings of supposed voices of the dead, but how real is this phenomena, and can our video and audio technology really be used to communicate with the other side? On this installment of 13 O’Clock, Tom and Jenny discuss EVPs and spirit communication, play some examples of EVPs, give a short history of the concept of talking to ghosts through audio devices, and hone in on some of the better known figures in the field, such as Marcello Bacci and the radio he uses to talk to spirits. Tune in to our ghostly frequency and listen for the voices, because it’s time for episode 52.

Episode Fifty: The Demon Child Haunting

It’s our fiftieth episode (cue party horn going *fweeeeet*)!!! And what better way to celebrate than with yet another one of our fun and popular breakdowns of “A Haunting” episodes! This time we’ll be discussing another one of our favorites, “Demon Child,” from season 2, which features a kid peeing in a closet and sitting on a cat, a demon named Man who pretends to be a bratty dead kid, and the ubiquitous Raccoon Man playing the dad! Thanks to everyone who has supported us through all 50 episodes so far, and we hope to have lots more shows coming in the future! But for now, Man said you could listen to episode 50 of 13 O’Clock. HE SAID IT WOULD BE FUN! 🙂

Episode Forty-Seven: The Hungry Ghosts Haunting

On episode 47, Tom and Jenny are returning to their fun recaps of “A Haunting” episodes, and this time around, they’re discussing one of the more unusual ones: “Hungry Ghosts,” which was the fifth episode of season two. The wealthy Bishop family move to a company-owned mansion in Taiwan after dad Dennis is given a promotion, but almost from the moment they set foot in the place, creepy things are afoot. Leaky walls, big-ass spiders, footsteps, voices, doors opening by themselves…it’s enough to make mom Candace summon a Taoist priest to rid the gigantic, window-heavy showplace of its pesky spirits. Don’t forget to pack up a picnic basket of fruit, incense, and cash to leave on the front lawn for the unquiet ghosts before tuning in for the latest haunting episode of 13 O’Clock.

Episode Forty-One: The Dark Side Haunting, From the Files of Ed and Lorraine Warren

In 1978, Bobby and Addie Wilcott bought an old New England house to fix up. Little did they know that a few decades later, enough creepy shit would happen in their humble abode to warrant a pretty damn good episode of A Haunting titled “The Dark Side.” The haunting started small — doors opening and closing by themselves, a broken player piano suddenly belting out tunes willy-nilly — but eventually cockroaches, child endangerment, and the Warrens got involved. On this episode, Tom and Jenny return to their discussion/review of A Haunting episodes, talking about the re-enactment itself, and also taking another opportunity to talk about the Warrens, because you know how we always have fun doing that. Spray around some odor of sanctity and enjoy episode 41.

Episode Thirty-Nine: The Haunting of Summerwind

Some of our listeners might remember the episode of the TV show A Haunting which was titled “The Haunting of Summerwind.” The house called Summerwind, in fact, is better known as the Lamont Mansion, and a bunch of spooky legends surround the place. Even though the house was destroyed by fire in 1988, ghost hunters in Wisconsin still claim that the area is haunted, and on this episode of 13 O’Clock, Tom and Jenny not only discuss the history and stories about the Lamont Mansion, but also how the facts differ from the episode of A Haunting (which, incidentally, is Tom’s very favorite episode of the show). We also discuss our feelings about other paranormal shows currently on the airwaves.

Episode Thirty-Eight: Case Files of Ed and Lorraine Warren

They’re not saying it’s demons…but it’s the Warrens, so yeah, it’s always demons. On this episode of 13 O’Clock, Tom and Jenny have an entertaining and digressive discussion about OG ghost hunters/demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren and the controversies surrounding them, as well as some of the high-profile cases they were involved in, such as the Haunting in Connecticut, the Smurl family, Annabelle the haunted doll, Amityville, and the case behind The Conjuring. And remember kids: everything is demons. DEMONS!

Episode Thirty-One: The Haunting at the Black Mausoleum (aka The Mackenzie Poltergeist)

Edinburgh’s Greyfriars Kirkyard is famous for many things, including being the final resting place of one of Scotland’s most reviled historical figures, Lord Advocate Sir George Mackenzie.

In 1998, a hapless homeless man fell through the floor of Mackenzie’s tomb – known as the Black Mausoleum – and apparently unleashed a paranormal shitstorm that continues to this day. Hundreds of visitors to the tomb have reported all sorts of terrifying events and injuries taking place at the Black Mausoleum, and the supernatural onslaught has evidently spread to encompass surrounding homes, and even allegedly follows tourists back to their hotels.

On this episode, Tom and Jenny discuss the fascinating case of the Mackenzie Poltergeist of the Black Mausoleum, and along the way wander off into inexplicable digressions about Casey Kasem’s Top 40, Bigfoot-themed reality shows, peeing on the Blarney Stone, and 80s-era video games featuring butt horking. Just listen, it will make sense then. (Not really.)

Episode Twenty-Eight: The Dyatlov Pass Incident

In 1959, in a remote area of the Ural Mountains in Soviet Russia, the bodies of nine hikers were discovered under very unusual circumstances. Bizarre details of the scene, such as oddly cut tents, lack of clothing, unexplained injuries, radioactivity, reported fireballs in the sky, and various other anomalies have inspired countless conspiracy theories about what happened to the unfortunate young people, ranging from secret KGB weapons testing to an alien encounter to tribal murder to an attack by the fearsome Russian Yeti. On this episode of 13 O’Clock, Tom and Jenny delve into the mystery of the Dyatlov Pass Incident, discussing the various theories and trying to recreate a plausible scenario that could account for all the strange clues found at the site of the tragic deaths.

Episode Twenty-Seven: Out of Body Experiences

You wake up suddenly in the middle of the night and find yourself floating up near the ceiling, looking down at your body. Or you’re undergoing traumatic surgery or involved in an accident, and you feel as though you’re being pulled upwards into a bright light with welcoming celestial beings showing you your past and your future. Out of body and near death experiences are surprisingly common, but what does it all mean? Do we actually have “souls” that are separate from our physical bodies? Or is there some aspect of our brain wiring that is responsible for the sensation of being outside of the physical realm?

On this episode, Tom and Jenny discuss various aspects of the OBE and the NDE, including paranormal explanations, results of various consciousness experiments being performed in the lab, similarities with sleep paralysis and lucid dream scenarios, and common aspects of the experience across cultures. In the second segment, Tom also describes his own OBE and NDE, and the insights he gained from experiencing them. Tether your astral body to your silver cord and listen in as we temporarily escape from our flesh envelopes and explore the outer dimensions.

Episode Twenty-Five: The Scole Experiment

Often bandied about as one of the most compelling investigations into the reality of spirit communication, the Scole Experiment was actually a five-year-long series of around 500 seances attended by both mediums and scientists in various fields. The list of witnessed phenomena seems impressive: disembodied spirit voices, moving lights, spinning tables, and the appearance of bizarre images and writing on unexposed film kept in a locked box. But how solid is the evidence gathered by the Scole experimenters really? On this episode, Tom and Jenny give an overview of the project and examine some of the problems with methodology that cast doubt on the conclusions drawn by the experimenters.

Episode Twenty-One: Houdini vs. The Spiritualists

Harry Houdini, of course, is the legendary illusionist whose unbelievable escapes still amaze, even a century later. But near the end of his short life, Houdini took on a new crusade, battling against the spiritualists and fraudulent mediums who he felt were giving people false hope that the living could talk to the dead. On this episode of 13 O’Clock, Tom and Jenny discuss Houdini’s entry into the murky world of spiritualism and séances, his famed debunking of medium Mina Crandon (aka Margery), his shattered friendship with spiritualist advocate Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and the ten-year quest by his widow Bess to contact Houdini after his death, using a special, agreed-upon code.

Episode Nineteen: Amityville Horror – Haunting or Hoax?

The Amityville Horror is probably one of the most famous “haunted house” tales in American history, but how much of this “true story” is actually true? On this episode, Tom and Jenny consider all the details, from the very real and horrific DeFeo murders that took place in the distinctive Long Island house, to the subsequent violent haunting of the Lutz family, to the legal battles and media frenzy that ensued in the wake of the publication of Jay Anson’s bestselling book, upon which the movie franchise was based. So shoo away the flies, scoop the black slime out of the toilet, scare off the red-eyed pig monster lurking around outside, and relax with this axe-wielding episode of 13 O’Clock. And when it’s over, GET OUT!!!

Episode Twelve: The Enfield Poltergeist

On the even dozenth episode of 13 O’Clock, Tom and Jenny have an in-depth and “spirited” (heh) discussion about what is probably the best-known poltergeist case of modern times, that of the Enfield Poltergeist in 1977. The story of the Hodgson family and their bizarre encounter with the unexplained (or their shameless hoaxing, depending on your perspective) has been the subject of numerous documentaries, books, a TV miniseries, and the recent horror film The Conjuring 2, but you haven’t really lived until you’ve heard your favorite podcasters’ take on it.

Episode Seven: The Mammoth Mountain Poltergeist

On this episode, Tom and Jenny discuss the case that started it all. Jenny was primarily a horror writer until Tom told her about a horrifying poltergeist experience he had endured in 1982, when he was thirteen years old. Objects moved in impossible ways, creepy noises like human voices came out of thin air, and an eerie presence seemed to watch him and his family at every turn, and followed them to a total of three locations. Tom gives a rundown of some of the phenomena, using current pictures of one of the locations in order to jog his memory. Tom and Jenny also discuss the poltergeist activity that rekindled at their own home more than thirty years after the original incidents. If you’d like to know more about the case, Tom and Jenny wrote a book about it called The Mammoth Mountain Poltergeist, and they’ve also been on a few podcasts talking about the details, such as here and here.

Episode Three: Mysterious Memory: The Mandela Effect and the Reincarnation of the Pollock Twins

Jenny and Tom explore some of the stranger outposts of human memory. First, they discuss the so-called Mandela Effect, whereby many people seemingly remember certain historical facts “incorrectly.” Is the past changing in subtle ways? Are some people overlapping from alternating timescales? Is there a glitch in the Matrix? Or is human memory simply faulty and fallible in various predictable ways?

In the second segment, they delve into the eerie case of the Pollock Twins, sometimes put forth as solid evidence for reincarnation. Were these famed girls really the reborn iteration of their dead sisters?

In between, Tom and Jenny also digress into a few of their own amusing childhood memories, involving Evel Knievel, child drunkenness, and the possibility of being one’s own grandpa.
